What is my Penis Type? | Different Types of Penises

Generally, men are always very bothered about the size of their penis. Once in a while, you can be tempted to check out the shape and outlook of your penis, if not for anything, just to be sure you love what you see.

Ever checked the boner of your friend in the gents or the locker room and looked closely at yours and asked, “Why is my penis different? Why is it curved (botched, etc.)? What type of penis is this?”

Like ice cream, which comes in many different varieties — cones, cups, sundaes, milkshakes, on a stick, the same goes for penises. A penis can be small, large, curvy, or bumpy. Different-looking, sure, but all are usually perfectly normal and great! (1).

Speaking about being  “normal,” very few penises are straight. They can curve in any direction. A curve of up to 30 degrees is still considered normal (2).

Is that something you should worry about? No. Penises appear differently. The curved penis is just as normal as the curved one. Check our previous article; we wrote extensively on straight and curved penises and what to do if you think you don’t have a normal penis shape.

Does your penis type affect the healthiness of your penis? No.

Is there a thing like a typical penis type? The answer remains no.

So why is it important to know your penis type since it does not affect your health?

Your penis type speaks a lot about your sex life. The awareness of your penis type can help you enjoy sex better. With the right knowledge, you will learn to maneuver your penis irrespective of its type and drawbacks.

The ride promises to be nothing short of exciting. ‘Gents, shall we?

Types of Penises

When checking out the penis, you are probably more concerned about the size than the shape because, like most men, you might be more worried about satisfying your partner’s sexual needs. If you’ve been reading our articles, you must have learned that having a small or big penis does not affect your sexual performance as long as you know how to put it to good use.

Penis types have more to do with the shape more than the size. Surprised? Well, it’s true!

According to The Hook, there are six types of penises:

  • The Banana
  • The Hammer
  • The Mushroom
  • The Cucumber
  • The Pencil
  • The C-shaped

According to Darren Breen, Managing Director of iMEDicare Ltd, a company that provides tools for erectile dysfunction, there are seven types of penises:

  • The Banana
  • The Pencil
  • The Cucumber
  • The Hammer
  • The Pepper(capsicum)
  • The Cone
  • The Sausage

Are you wondering what fruits, veggies, and tools have to do with a penis?

As weird as it may sound, it is quite interesting to note that they have a lot more to do with your dick than you ever imagined. Strictly speaking, the shape of your penis determines what type it is.

Which of the above is your penis type?

The banana penis

This type of penis slightly curves upwards and is quite longer than the average penis size. Darren says the banana features a curve to the left or right that can either be natural or caused by injury.

“This can be a congenital curve – so they are born with it, or it is acquired and called Peyronie’s disease. Seven per cent of all men will have a Peyronie’s episode at some point in life, and it is caused by excess scar tissue developing following an injury which can lead to lateral deformity or an hour-glass shape” (3).

The hammer penis

Just as the name implies, it shares a resemblance with the body of a hammer. This shape of the penis has a thin shaft in comparison to a larger head(4).

This type of penis is thin and long with a large head. In other words, it has a narrow base with a broader head.

According to Darren, “This is a narrow base widening to a very wide glans – gravity makes it more difficult for this type of erect penis to lift skyward on erection. It looks a little like a mushroom with a narrow base stalk. The glans is unusually wide” (3).

 The mushroom penis

Try picturing a miniature hammer with a broader width and smaller height. The image that comes up is the shape of a mushroom penis. The mushroom has an enormous head, so does the mushroom penis. The picture above should give you an idea of what we are trying to describe.

 The cucumber penis

The cucumber-shaped penis does not mean the penis has the size of a cucumber, though they are larger than other types.

Darren described the cucumber as “thick along with decent length. It is thicker than the usual penis and usually in the 5 to 8-inch bracket” (3).

The nickname was coined because the girth is thick along the shaft (4). It is a little thinner than other types at the tip, hence resembling a cucumber.

The pencil penis

Take a chill. No cause for alarm; no penis can be as thin as a pencil. Yes, your penis could be pencil-shaped. By pencil, it means the penis is not as thick as others.

Darren described the pencil penis as having a long and thin uniform girth with narrow glans (rounded head of the penis). He added, “The length can range enormously, but it is very long and usually thinner than the average” (3).

A pencil penis is straight from top to bottom. It maintains the same thickness from top to shaft, unlike the mushroom and hammer.

The c-shaped penis

This is similar to the banana penis. It has a vivid curve to the right and downward.

It is a rare type of penis and is most likely the preferred choice for ladies.

The pepper(capsicum) penis

You ever heard of peter pepper or penis pepper which got its name for looking like a penis? It is what it is. This penis type also got its name for being as small and short as a pepper.

“Pepper penis is unusually short (3-4 inches) but exceptionally thick along the entire length” (3).

This may seem like something to worry about or maybe not. Here is some good news. Recent research shows that the majority of women prefer girth to length. Yeah, your partner may just want it thick.

The cone penis

This is often referred to as the “most” problematic penis.

The cone penis sees a linear narrowing of the shaft to a pencil tip. Sometimes it is linked to “phimosis,” a term used to refer to the tightening of the foreskin that is so restrictive that it cannot be retracted at all, literally constricting the normal expansion of the penis head.

The sausage penis

This is the most common type of penis. If your penis is the same as the majority of penises you have seen in the gents or locker room, then you have a sausage penis. Yes, the shaking hotdog shares features with the penis.

“This is of average thickness and length with a uniform girth along the length and is fairly typical” (3).

Now that you know your penis type let’s talk about your sex life.

What are the attributes of different types of penises?

The attributes explained below will help you understand more about your penis type.

The banana

This penis type is straight and quite innocent looking when relaxed, but once erect, it curves. The banana penis, when triggered, moves from one side to the other. With the slightest arousal, it becomes a well-piloted ship.

With the banana’s curvy nature, you can constantly rub against the upper wall in the vagina, which also happens to be where the G-spot is located. That constant rubbing can make for very good sex, even if you are a novice. Having a banana-shaped penis helps you rock your partner’s world. It hits her right at the spot with ease. All you need to do is keep it natural and simple.

 The hammer

If you have this type of penis, then you also have an advantage in bed. It is the perfect tool for extra stimulation between the sheets.

This type of penis has the intrinsic ability to fill your partner up completely, creating major pressure and stimulation in all areas.

 The mushroom

The mushroom is a shorter and girthier form of the hammer. It has an enormous head. Although the size is not everything, studies have shown that women love thick dicks and find themselves complimenting this wonder.

And, according to a recent report, the mushroom head has evolved into a “tool” for removing the semen of other love rivals(4).

The cucumber

This can be a wonderful tool for you to please your partner, try positions that may be comfortable for both you and your partner (6).

The pencil

The pencil type of penis has no angles to accommodate, so you can probably get into any position you and your partner are comfortable with.

The c-shaped

Just like the banana penis, it gives you an advantage in bed. This type of penis can be useful when you and your partner love to try new things, so take advantage and find the right spots (6).

The doggy style is awesome for this penis because it hits her G-spot. There are also other fun and exciting positions you can try out, like being on top or reverse cowgirl.

 The cone

As earlier mentioned, the cone is more problematic than others due to its very thin tip.

Does that mean a bad sex experience for you and your partner? Not at all.

If you have a cone-shaped penis, you will be as good at moving as any battery-powered pocket rocket.  Driving smoothly, just the way she likes it. The missionary and doggy-style are generally the best positions for this little package, making for even more intimate sex. They are also great for oral sex.

Is there anything else?

What else is there to know?

Some things could affect your penis. Such things include:

  • Circumcision

Interestingly, an uncircumcised penis is more advantageous than a circumcised. The extra foreskin protects you from unwanted health conditions such as necrosis of the penile head, cut to the penile head or urethra, and penile loss. Though, both function normally.

  • The length and girth

Whether you have a long or short penis, a thick or thin penis, do not be ashamed as all are unique and important.

If you have performance issues or notice something odd, see a urologist or a sex therapist.

Last words…

Just as the penis differs in size, it also differs in shape. These shapes bring about various types of penises. There is nothing like a typical penis shape, just as there is nothing like typical penis size.

The penis shares feature with a few foods and objects; hence, they are named accordingly. The most common of these are the sausage penises.

The banana penis, according to medical experts, could be a result of a penile injury.  The cone penis is considered to be more problematic.

Regardless of what your penis shape may be, your penis is absolutely normal.  Your penis type does not affect your physical health. The type of penis you have will influence your sex life. It is important to familiarise yourself with your type of penis to take advantage of it.

Though your penis type may not affect your health, it is important to pay close attention to the changes such as the change of color, itchiness, sensitivity, etc., as these may indicate a health challenge.

Make sure to see a doctor when you notice the slightest change or have issues with performance.
